Bring Change 2 Mind is a non-profit organization working together to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness. The organization approached Ditto to assist with its annual fundraising gala as well as to build awareness of the organization’s mission and outreach efforts in mainstream media. Team Ditto was charged with coordinating celebrity and personality involvement while educating and creating media opportunities leading up to the fundraiser.
To maximize reporter attendance and their coverage of the event, Ditto had to engage the media with BC2M’s compelling work. The team collaborated with BC2M Co-Founder Glenn Close and the organization’s board to hone key messaging. Ditto focused on education and awareness to drive ticket sales and worked with media on the ground to make sure that they received attention grabbing soundbites needed to craft articles after the event. Ditto also took over BC2M’s social media to push content promoting key messages and special moments from the gala.
Leading up to BC2M’s gala, Team Ditto used current news angles to raise awareness and start a conversation around the broader topic of mental health. Ditto workshopped a creative angle with Mashable fashion editor David Yi to ultimately publish a weeklong series called #MindfulAllies on the faces of mental illness, sharing their deeply personal experiences in a positive and hopeful way to help end the stigma surrounding the subject.
Team Ditto secured interviews with New York Post, New York Daily News, NY Magazine, Entertainment Weekly and E! – to name a few for BC2M’s fundraising gala , but most importantly the team was able to help raise valuable contributions for their cause and raise awareness around mental health stigma through the #MindfulAllies campaign.
