The Via Agency

Project Overview

The VIA Agency is a creative advertising firm located in Portland, ME. The agency had introduced several new campaigns for its clients as well as added Golden Corral and Three Olives to its diverse body of work. VIA hired the team to highlight client work, expand their thought leadership in specific verticals and expand awareness around their culture to attract new employees.

Executive Visibility Brand Positioning Media Relations

The VIA Agency was a small ad agency located away from a major market. Ditto set out to promote conversations in the press around their work and approach to overall client work. Ditto focused on generating awareness of the campaigns VIA had executed, differentiating them from competitors and creating newsworthy POV around industry and relevant current news.

Many opportunities revolved around promoting VIA’s campaign work. For Three Olives, the agency implemented a video-first campaign, which was later followed by the actual commercial to attract music fans (it featured a cover of “Werewolves of London” by YouTube star Masha).

Approach

VIA not only brought top-notch work to each of its clients, it also became known as an agency with great culture. Team Ditto was able to visit VIA’s office and do a deep dive into what made their environment a place of significance. Ditto was able to synthesize their experience and pitch the culture of VIA to leading industry publications, leading to an AdWeek portrait feature highlighting some of the very innovative ways employees are kept engaged at work, while spurring creativity. Similar stories on VIA culture have appeared in Fast Company (2).

VIA also provided poignant and bold point of view on a wide variety of topics. Executives from the agency have spoken on Beats, Super Bowl, celebrity spokespeople and Dodd-Frank. When World Cup fever was taking over America, Greg Smith, Chief Creative Officer offered provocative commentary on the sporting event that had him featured on the Fox Business Network, International Business Times and AdWeek.

Result

For each of those campaigns, we secured hits in outlets such as The New York Times. Fast Company, AdWeek, Advertising Age –to list just a few. The VIA Agency parlayed these successes to secure new business for 2015 and beyond.
